Holistic and integrative
With Bosque Azul, we are attempting to restore the forest in the Carara region and within the Paso de las Lapas biological corridor.
The project also aims to monitor and protect the region’s flora and fauna, conserve the springs that supply water to the local population, and promote productive, ecological alternatives that help generate income for families in the region, with a particular focus on the leading role of women entrepreneurs.
Education for sustainable development
One of the most important goals of our project is education for sustainable development.
Our program is developing very successfully in four schools in the region, located in the communities of Bijagual, La Hacienda, Las Delicias, and El Sur. Using innovative methods and concrete actions, approximately 60 children participating in our program learn in a playful way. In addition, their teachers regularly participate in training courses on environmental topics.
By involving local communities and actively communicating beyond the region, we aim to ensure that our forest project is valued, protected, and further developed by the next generation. After all, the reforested area will only retain its climate-protecting effect if it remains forested in the long term.
